Lourans Mikhail is a multi-faceted creative currently living in San Diego, CA., after honorably serving 13 years as a U.S. Marine. As a mixed media artist, Lourans works in the mediums of sculpture, painting, murals, and graphic design to explore different perspectives and challenge the complex narratives of socioeconomics, culture, politics, and race.
Inspired by his Assyrian heritage, graffiti, comics, anime, cartoons, and fine art, Lourans works in between the realms of pop surrealism and low brow. The use of wordplay and perspective is extensively used either figuratively or literally depending on the message and medium(s) used.
Lourans has a bachelors degree in graphic design, while his artwork has been exhibited in Museums and numerous galleries across United States. He has contributed to public art projects in locations such as San Diego, Anaheim, Memphis, New Orleans, and Chattanooga. His work has been the subject of television interviews with various news outlets and publications.
2025 has another solo exhibition in August lined up for Lourans Mikhail. “A Type of Perspective” will be the first solo exhibition centered around his typography series titled, “Anamorphic Alphabet”. The exhibition opens August 1st, 2025, and will be on display all month at Thumbprint Gallery in La Jolla, California.
